Stannis the grammar menace.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-08 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. If it's something you can reasonably count, like people or cats or grocery items, you want fewer (grocery lane signs be damned). If it's unreasonably countable like grains of sand, you want less.

The fewer the cats, the less food I have to buy.
Because I have fewer cats, I have to buy fewer cans of food.
There is less sand in my shoe than at the beach.

I think "not able to be defined numerically" is perhaps a better descriptor than "unreasonably countable". You COULD say you have 1,409,294,021 grains of sand. But "grains of sand" can be assigned a number, while "sand" cannot.

I agree with you in overall, just being pedantic :P

I saw the cherry blossoms and was excited for a BrainDead secret! But no...

Those people are so incredibly self centered, and I'm guessing that they are the exactly same people that IRL think that everything revolves around them. "So you aren't eating sugar now? What, do you think that my cakes are awful? You've quit drinking? There's nothing wrong with drinking, I'm not an alcoholic."

Best to ignore them, since you can't convince them that any differing opinions are not personal insults to their way of thinking.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-08 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Ehh, some people just cannot express an opinion without implicitly denigrating the people who hold the opposite opinion. They go on a diet and they can't mention the foods you love without using the phrase "artery-clogging grease." They give birth with an epidural, and they write an essay about how they had an epidural because they're not a self-made martyr. They don't like a book that's generally well-regarded, and their review implies that everyone who did like it is just a sheep.

I think you touched on something I have not specifically put into words before but that is very true. I have seen many other examples of it lately and it's very annoying.

I wish fewer people would put pink type on a pink background.

I could read your secret, OP, but it was tricky.

Honestly, that's cause there's a culture of kinkshaming going on now.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-08 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really.
Outside a few places on the internet, no one gives a shit about your stupid fetishes.

I don't know why you would expect otherwise, tbh. The sky is blue, grass is green, kinksters are whiny and have a persecution complex. Just one of those facts of life.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-09 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Hi kinkshame anon! How's it hanging?

I agree! So much kinkshaming- especially here on F!S. Even recently there was someone writing a secret kinkshaming, where in the comments all these people wrote 'Yeah those people with that kink are really messed up! Terrible human beings' etc etc.

I just think the kinkshamers are very judgmental people, who have limited knowledge on how human psychology works.

News flash people- just because people have crazy kinks, in regards to FF, does not mean they're going to turn into some serial killer rapist in real life. If you think that, then you really need to educate yourself on the true monsters in society.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-09 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
lol

(Anonymous) 2016-09-09 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Just as a reminder, 90% of conversations about this on here - including the one from yesterday - are about whether people are romanticizing kinks or abusive relationships. Not about whatever you're talking about.

On one hand I agree with you, but on the other...when they investigate these true monsters, isn't there always some online activity be it hardcore porn or kinks to (more extreme) death threats that make people go, 'Person X was showing all the signs of being a weirdo, hey, loook at all the red flags. If only someone had said something sooner, before they did that horrible thing.'
