I think it's a good move. Bluetooth is becoming the standard, they're just getting ahead of the game.

Except that Bluetooth audio is fucking garbage. For as much as people claim it's made large strides, even a shitty pair of earbuds you get from the drug store offer better sound, a million times cheaper.

I'm not an audiophile. I can't even hear a difference between 128 or 192 bitrates, so the difference in sound quality is a non-issue to me.

It's not about being an audiophile, though. Bluetooth is damned near unlistenable-- it's tinny and flat even to "untrained" ears, and that's not my opinion alone. Why would you want to pay so much for something so genuinely bad? I can't wrap my head around it. You might as well throw $150 into the street.

My Bluetooth earphones sound fine to me. I have no idea what you're even on about.

It's only $150 if you want Apple-branded stuff. You can get a very good pair of Bluetooth earphones for $40-$50 if you know where to look.

Honestly, it's just annoying me that the choice is being forced-- you may not care about sound quality, but I (and I'd venture the majority of people) do, at least enough that it's going to be a noticeable downgrade. It's singlehandledly making me switch from Apple to Android. I disagree with you that Bluetooth is where audio is heading.

Yeah, and I'll spend over $40 replacing them multiple times in a year because the cord got worn/damaged. I bought my Bluetooth pair for $50 almost 4 years ago, so in the end I saved money.

What on Earth? I've been rocking the same pair of $15 earbuds from the drug store for three years, with no change in quality. I'm not exactly easy on them, either. How were you burning through them so fast?

I take mine everywhere. I use public transportation, so my earphones are always with me. The longest I've ever had a pair of wired earphones last is 6 months.

Same for me, all of the above. I've not had the wires degrade on me at all.

And I have. I take them everywhere and eventually (after 4-6 months) the connection in the cord gets frayed inside and I lose sound in one ear.

I used to buy cheap ones like that until I realized how much money I was wasting on replacing them. Bought a good set of wireless ones for $50 four years ago, haven't looked back because unlike the $10 drugstore crap, these still work.

still, if I am spending more the 20 bucks I am not spending them on earbuds. I want comfortable over ear headphones if I am cashing out real money. Wireless is not an appealing enough feature for me to pay more

Lol, you have bad ears then. My $70 bluetooth ear buds sound quite good, so muc so in fact that I literally have to pay attention to someone if I wanna hear them.

Doesn't sound tinny or flat at all. Especially after I mess with my phones equalizers in the music app.

You must be tone-deaf. There's not an audiophile in the world who'd recommend bluetooth headphones. They're great if you can't walk without tripping on a cord, but that's about it. They're the velcro of the headphone world.

Lolololol, I didn't say the new iPod earphones. I LOVE my Samsung ones. The headset I have. And I hear my music and phone calls just fine in those, which is why I say you have bad hearing. Those are tinny sounding? Yeah right and I'm the queen of England.
