I see fans bending backwards all the time to try to get white guys shipped, even if they have almost no dialogue or scenes together. So this doesn't surprise me.

For me, it's more like:

I see fans bending backwards all the time to try to get [guys they personally find attractive like Arthur and Eames] shipped, even if they have almost no dialogue or scenes together[, and most of the time, these guys happen to be white because that's what those fans find attractive].

Somehow I can't see a legion of fans thinking either Rick or Morty are sexy so this is tough for me to apply to this show.

No it wasn't! I even put the changes in brackets for you. :D

The point of fandom shipping white men is that they find those white men attractive [see example given: Inception], which doesn't apply across the board in a fandom like in Rick and Morty.

I see people bending over backwards all the time to complain about peoples' shipping preferences, even if it has almost nothing to do with the discussion at hand. So this doesn't surprise me.
