TBH, I have tried reading a couple J2 fics out there just as - hopefully - OOC m/m porn (a couple fics have been recced to me over time just for the premise) because I don't get that invested in celebrities and I don't really like Padalecki as a person, only to lose interest when Jared was enough like himself for me to find him unlikable.
