Audiences aren't going to them in droves. Less people go to the movies now than ever before. The increased profits are due to wider distribution, tie-in merchandising now counting directly towards profits, and increased ticket prices (up an average of 100-150% in last 15 years in America and EU). But ticket sales are down, most indie films aren't widely distributed, and superhero films have been the most profitable of the last decade. It's ridiculous to say the studios aren't focusing on them since that's exactly what they're doing and plan to do just that for several years to come.

Yeah, there is some focus on them but it isn't like Disney only makes Marvel movies and not anything else.

I was referring to audiences going to superhero at roughly the same amount throughout the years of the superhero bubble.

Attendance to movies overall may be less than in the past but that is unrelated to superhero movies.
