and there's a dude who thought Steven was hot when he fused into a different physical form (the form was neither a girl or a boy but Steven was still Steven)

Yeah seriously

Like... a popular show aimed at kids where women being into other women, even if they're dorks, is considered normal and okay? That really didn't exist when I was a kid. I literally thought I didn't have the social capital to get away with liking girls because every single scrap of representation was like one cool character. And I don't recall seeing any at all until I was a teenager anyway. Netflix didn't exist, so I couldn't exactly watch But I'm A Cheerleader or anything like that.
