I don't disbelieve you, I know a bunch of the people you're describing myself. They aren't good enough reason for me to dismiss everybody who is in fandom and says they identify as trans or NB though. I know a whole lot of girls who like to think they're bicurious because it's "kinky" too, who upon knowing them for years are straight as an arrow, but if a stranger told me they're bi or lesbian, I'm going to believe them until proven otherwise... not disbelieve them until I see them flirt with a woman.

Well yes, that's my point. I don't know, nor do I care about random stranger's trans status. If they say they are, sure, whatever. But the people I know irl are pretty classic cases of "nope, just obsessed".
