That's kind of an interesting tangent.

If you had to pick between being ported to an existing fantasy world or an existing sci-fi and could only pick genre and NOT author, which would you pick?

On the one hand there's incredibly sexist sci-fi, on the other hand, there's (edit: worlds like) Gor (which count as more fantasy). What do you do? Which genre do you think you have a better chance at rolling well with?

Probably fantasy, higher number of female writers. Less hygene and services, but less rape-bots and what not gender essentialism.

And you could luck out with fantasy and get dumped in Faerûn, which due to the nature of D&D updating every so often, also updates things like equality standards (not everywhere in Faerûn has equality, but it's pretty good compared to say, Westeros, or even Middle Earth, which may idolise women, but they still have very strong gender roles).
