Most Fandomy Thing You've Done/Bought

What's the most "fandomy" thing you've done or bought - like, did you wait in line for twelve hours at Comic Con to get an autograph from a favorite actor? Do you have every single action figure of your favorite character, including ones you've commissioned yourself? Did you cosplay in public just to get the BEST photo? Do you own a body pillow of your husbando/waifu?

C'mon, let's put the fandom back in fandomsecrets.

Walked around a con as a travelling tribble salesman (Well saleswoman) selling homemade tribbles to pay for Leonard Nimoy's autograph. I did it too!

I used to cosplay a lot, and though I think I cosplayed probably over twenty characters, I had one favorite character who I'd cosplay at every convention. My best friend also cosplayed a character from this series, and not only have we rented out a cosplay-photo studio for pics, we made a live action music video in cosplay.

I know I should probably be ashamed but we had so much fun, I can only look back fondly.

I wore a cosplay dress to senior prom.

In all fairness, the dress just looked like a normal formal gown (and quite pretty, if I do say so myself), but I made it myself specifically for this purpose. And the point was, I knew. My partner knew. My friends knew. And it was awesome.

Well, I have a huge collection of fandom t-shirts. And I've been to Dragoncon 4 times. And I have a Captain America key chain, a whole lot of fandom posters, a Tardis backpack, a Tardis t-shirt, and a Tardis alarm clock (replaced my old Darth Vader one that died and they don't make anymore).

I have an actual spongebob sponge. I haven't done anything to get it, it was a gift, but I have no other fannish merchandise and it has lived in my bathroom ever since. It always makes me smile in the morning.

I think I do a lot of things that qualify. I have unashamedly cosplayed in public for cons and for Halloween, have some fandommy items and shirts that I am not ashamed of, display my YGO tins on a bookshelf along with various other merch (posters, a Lego X-Wing fighter, various decorations)

Hrmmmmmmm. I own all the DVD releases of Supernatural seasons and I bought a little 'Hot Wheels' type car that's the Impala.

That's...pretty much it, unless you want to count all the fic i've written. :)

I have a massive T-shirt collection and lots of assorted merchandise. I rarely wear the shirts anymore and a lot are worn out, so I display a lot of them on the walls. We have a games room that's all fannish stuff, like figurines and jewellery on shelves, framed autographed pics on the walls, and displays of books like HP and ASOIAF as well as the fancy version of some game guides like Ocarina of Time. It's also our guest room and I love showing house guests to their room, they always see something they really like and are or were majorly into.

I almost made a secret about it back in the day, but in the end I was too lazy and too scared of the potential wank:
I bought a red-flame-on-black pendant at a monastery because it reminded me of the Fire Nation. Doing fandom AND religion wrong in one go?

I...got the body pillow pillowcase of Knock Out from TFP.

And I've been doing everything I can to get every RID2015 Strongarm figure.

And I've been collecting every Animal Crossing Amiibo just because I freaking love Animal Crossing so much.

Co-ran a blog/website for a show. The blog owner ended up having contact with the exec producer and several of the writers. We ended up hosting on line chats with some of the writers as well as a few of the actors on the show. Of course she turned out to be an ego maniac who thought she coukd control the entire fandom. I cut and run shortly after I found out she was lying about me and planning to force me out of co-running things.

I also write fanfic, have made a handful of fan vids, currently run a couple fannish side blogs on tumblr.

I have two cels (one from original Saint Seiya, and one from original Ai no Kusabi) and a big box of doujinshi that I bought 10 or so years ago. Not really anything since.

I used to go to cons a lot and cosplay on a semi-regular basis.

I still write fanfic.

But one thing that I do is I commission a lot of artists to draw sometimes porn sometimes not-porn of my OTP.

My swords (all Hobbit or LotR related, four metal, five LARP foam (one is actually a hammer)), my cuff (black leather with Dwarf pattern) and my Evenstar necklace, Erebor key, Hobbit Lego figures, Boromir Lego figure, my customised Silmaril Lego figures, the Inquisition Collector's edition box, the Siege of Dragonspear Collector's edition (which I still haven't got yet, but a week or so ago I got an update that was looking like it could be soon).

All of those I would consider "fandomy", though out of all of them the single most expensive one is the Evenstar necklace, with the pendant costing $300 and the chain $150 (postage included). They are sterling silver too.

Idk about "most fandomy" but most recently, I bought two red plaid shirts @ Target 25% because I love plaid and none of the plaid shirts I already own fit me that well & 75% because they look like shirts that Gilfoyle wears on Silicon Valley & can double for a lazy casual closet cosplay/Halloween costume if I don't decide on something better between now & Halloween. I also have a cardigan I bought solely because it looked like something Haven's Duke Crocker would wear. It's really comfortable & I always get compliments when I wear it.

I also collect a lot of Disney's Rapunzel merchandise. My favorite princess is actually Jasmine, it's just that I happen to own the most Rapunzel merch.

Oh, and I'm on a roadtrip right now, and I made it a point to pack all three of the Simpsons t-shirts I own. Also, when I was in obsessive love with MTV's Teen Wolf, I bought shower gel because it was blood orange scented (I quite love it. I still have a bottle because it smells great.) and I couldn't decide between two sandwiches at The Jewish Mother in VA Beach, so I ended up going with a menu item I no longer remember the name of, but that reminded me of Teen Wolf all the time. In looking for the name of the item, I've just discovered The Jewish Mother is no longer in operation, which is sad because I really loved that place the two times I went there. :/

Similarly, when I was in London, I had just recently become obsessed with Bill Hader's Stefon sketches on SNL's Weekend Update, and in one of them, he compares baby fists to empanadas, so when I stopped into a South American cuisine restaurant, I ordered empanadas.

I've waited all day in line at Comic Con to get into an event the next day. I've cosplayed there, which for me means I've also cosplayed on public transit on the way there. I still dress up for Halloween, whether I'm at work, at school, handing out candy at home, or all three.

I've seen the Lloyd-Webber Phantom of the Opera over 20 times, which is nothing compared to some fans. Haven't ever seen the restaged tour or the sequel, though. Would love to see a high school or college version now that the rights are out.

The silliest/weirdest fandom related thing I ever bought is probably an old spinning wheel, from a thrift shop. I can sort of spin with a drop spindle, but I don't crochet or knit and honestly it needs a lot of restoration to be useful; at the very least it needs a new drive band and probably a new flyer whorl or maybe a whole new bobbin, and the drive wheel looks like someone teethed on it. But it was very cheap and I'm an OUaT/Rumbelle fan. It'll make an awesome cosplay photo prop for that or Sleeping Beauty. All the other fandomy stuff I've ever bought has been cosplay supplies or stuff I actually know how to use.
