I wore a cosplay dress to senior prom.

In all fairness, the dress just looked like a normal formal gown (and quite pretty, if I do say so myself), but I made it myself specifically for this purpose. And the point was, I knew. My partner knew. My friends knew. And it was awesome.

Aeris's Wallmarket dress from Final Fantasy VII. It's literally just a red evening dress without any other defining characteristics, but hey, it's the thought that counts.
