I'm glad I have not heard this apparently terrible band then, because I still love this song.

I only just heard it for the first time recently (I don't radio, really), and I was surprised at how much I liked it tbh. I'm looking forward to more from this band.

I'm sorry you had that experience, though, OP, that really has got to suck. :(

I don't "get" this song. Yeah, it's a bit catchy, but the only lyric I can make out is CAKE! by the! OCEAN! and then I just think of how my grandparents brought cake to the beach one time, and went for a walk, and when they got back, seagulls had gotten into it and eaten most of it.

Ha I had that happen with Use Somebody. Random person covered it at a local town fair a few years ago, loudspeakers blaring, and all I could hear was the most uninspired, off-key rendition of any song ever. Echoing through the entire fair. I didn't like the song before but now I hear the opening notes and I physically recoil. The memories... *shudder*

I have the heinous memory of my high school's "cool guys" making a band and singing "Gloria" by Van Morrison. Unfortunately, they couldn't spell G L O R I A!
