I was in Target yesterday & saw these sweater dresses as well a few other styles. I don't know if they're to your liking, but I thought I'd let you know that Target is selling some this fall season.

So I may have gone to Target today, but I might need to go again because those are nice.

I bought a cute sweater dress at the Gap over the weekend, I just need the weather to cool off so I can wear it!

(Also, I bought two plaid shirts at Target yesterday, so I also need the weather to cool to wear them to full effect.)

It's this green/grey mix. It's super bland on the hanger but it looks really good on me and I can't wait to wear it! It has half sleeves, so it doesn't need to be that cool, because it's a fairly lightweight sweater.

Ugh, I was mad because I tried on a bunch of plaid shirts at Gap but they turned in to short dresses on me!!!

That's exciting. Your description of it makes it sound really pretty. I love clothes that appear unassuming in the store at first but are actually really flattering. I'm sorry you couldn't find any compatible plaid shirts. I wish you luck in that endeavor. :D

I'm more happy about how comfy it is!

And yes, I have learned I basically can never, ever buy things online because I always have to try them on. I have a fairly non-shape body, so a lot of women's clothes look weird on me.

non-fashionable anon: do you wear leggings or jeans with a sweater dress? Bare legs? If bare won't your legs get cold?

It depends on the weather. I usually prefer to wear a combination of loose pants, leggings, tights, or sweater tights, mostly to keep warm. I pretty much never wear jeans with sweater dresses, but only because they end up with awkward lines. If you owned tight, skinny jeans, they might work.

I've gone bare a few times, but honestly, I like having my legs covered at work and sweater dresses are work appropriate.

Basically, just go with what is comfortable for you.
