Braggarts

The other day, I spent half an hour of my life that I won't get back again listening to a horn player's saga of how she carried the rest of her section, back in high school band, and her jealous, backstabbing bandmates resented her because she was better with just one year of lessons than they were with three. And I had to bite my tongue in order not to say "Maybe what they resented is that you CAN'T STOP BRAGGING ON YOURSELF."

Look at it this way, if someone's biggest accomplishment was to be the alleged star of their high school band... well, that's pretty damn sad.

Well, she was only eighteen, so she still has time to learn better sense and a little humility, not to mention accomplish something worthwhile. I wouldn't write her off just yet.

You should write a tragic character study about it. Then you can tell this true, autobiographical tidbit in your interviews, when you are rich and famous. And you should dedicate it to me, because I gave you the nudge to embrace your greatness!

After the botched threesome thing the other day, this is another gem portraying the human condition that practically writes itself.

I heard a good term for those people and it always cheers me up. "Two-baggers"

"Because if someone mentions they once had to eat a bag of shit, this person will stand up and proudly yell that they ate TWO bags of shit."

I love it!
