Maybe a little unpopular, but I was awed at Interstellar. The space was gorgeous of course, and while I pegged the big plot point pretty early on, the science wasn't impossible to follow, and I found it pretty heartfelt.

& Hero - I can't say much without giving it away, but it is beautiful and if you can watch it, do so.

Yeah, agreed. I liked Interstellar a lot more than I expected, despite its flaws. I think one of my favorite parts about it was the inhospitable planets. They were so desolate, without being over-the-top.

I have never once felt the urge to rewatch Interstellar, but I get what it was trying to do and it definitely did that. I feel like Christopher Nolan wanted it to be his magnum opus, and to be honest, if your opus manages to be about both the possible end of the human race AND....like, the power of love? You could do worse. it was ambitious and I respect that. he clearly made exactly the movie he wanted to make and I also respect that it's a mostly-VERY-scientific movie that also has a big squishy heart.
