(Anonymous) 2016-09-14 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)The biggest example I can think of for this is One Piece. Whenever a character in One Piece breaks down, they're generally a total, snotty wreck (even the pretty female characters) and I've always liked that.
Another example is Sam Winchester in Supernatural. I love watching Sam cry so much that I think I might have a genuine problem. He's always such a mess when he cries that it makes his devastation seem a lot more real
