A lot of serial killers have massive fandoms, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't. Especially since she has such a famous movie about her.

Yeah. Just about every famous one has a significant following. It's not just that they're famous, they literally have fans who obsess about them every bit as much as Supernatural fans obsess about those guys.
