Sorry, this secret pegs me as self-righteous bullshit.

Like, okay, a lot of series' have Big Evil Military Industrial Complex organizations, which naturally have uniforms and dictators and such. That's not Nazi. That's generic military-government organization. Does the "genre" have some Nazi inspiration? Sure, we don't live in a vacuum, but other military-government organizations ~in uniform~ have existed throughout history, and how terrifying they are makes them a great villain.

And people are allowed to like the villains. Rarely do you see the villains being fawned over stuffing children and elderly into gas chambers and still have a fandom. You usually just see them being sulky and cool, maybe killing someone here or there or ordering a planet destroyed but you're not going to see the gory, devastating details. The series often intentionally portrays them as sulky and sexy, after all. At any rate, it shouldn't be any more horrifying to like the villain in uniform as opposed to the non-uniformed villain who commits the same level of atrocities. Liking a villain is liking a villain.

Finally, I actually don't think there are that many cases of this? When I think of the most popular villains, none of them are Nazi-esque at all? Unless you just hang out in Marvel fandom or something? lol
