Inspired by #9

Assuming you were in the main cast of a horror or sci fi disaster movie- meaning being an extra or NPC is not an option- what tropey role would you play?

I'd be the super paranoid one who knows something is up. I may or may not die depending on who I am with. I'd be that stoner from Cabin in the Woods. But replace pot with alcohol.

Wisecracking guy that's mainly comic relief but sometimes notices the exit over there or hey did you just hear that.

Probably the one who trips while trying to run away and gets eaten/vaporised first.

I'd be the nervous, anxious best friend who is telling the lead "not to go in there" and while they are investigating the spooky stuff I will be killed by the monster off screen.

Definitely this.

Nervous, unpopular best friend who tells her gorgeous gal pal not to open the door from around her glasses and braces. :P

Not charismatic or good looking enough to be the lead, but have the skillset to really assist.

Either get killed right at the start after not taking people seriously, or heroic sacrifice right near the end. There is no middle-ground.

You would definitely be the dude who doesn't trust the hero and insists in going his own way and striking out on his own because he knows best, only to wind up getting deaded.

Probably the very genre-savvy one who lampshades all the common cliches and whatnot.

I'd be the much-younger wife of the middle-aged main character, but our age difference is never called out and you're not really supposed to notice because that's just how Hollywood works.

angry, panicky, die in a gruesome fashion to up the stakes

The character who tries to solve everything pragmatically, then dies almost instantly, because the gods of horror aren't big on pragmatism.

Probably the funny best friend of the protagonist who would die terribly at some point (or, who would blunder through alive against expectations)

The shy friend who stumbles onto the first dead body and reports it in a sobbing panic to everyone else and is calmed down but not believed, and dies next so everyone can say if only they'd listened to me.

Well, I'm definitely the Nerd or the Geek of the situation.

I guess that means my fate depends on the genre. Either I'm the one who caused the outbreak/apocalypse with my ~playing god~, which might make me the main villain... or I'm probably dead as soon as I provide some kind of crucial plot insight so the main character can go save the world.

I think I'd take the villain role over the expendable exposition guy, frankly.

I'd be the monster!

Re: Inspired by #9

(Anonymous) 2016-09-18 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
The incredibly aggravating one who is genuinely trying to be helpful and keep things organised but is mostly just annoying everyone in range.

Re: Inspired by #9

(Anonymous) 2016-09-18 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, probably the person who pokes the strange new thing and gets eaten/blown up/set on fire/mauled/some combination of the above.

Re: Inspired by #9

(Anonymous) 2016-09-18 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be the brawny over-confident type. First I'd be freaked out, scared even, but then I'd just get angry.
First to score a monster kill, first to kill someone (an ally) by mistake.
Also the one to die the most gruesome death, because I wasn't paying enough attention and the monster got behind me.

Basically, the character who's the faux leader, and then fucks up big time. And then the audience boos and hisses because WHY DID YOU DO THAT my gods WHAT A MORON.

pros: probably saved someone's life
cons: ... and then caused their death later

Re: Inspired by #9

(Anonymous) 2016-09-19 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be the one who wants to leave, but can't seem to get people moving and ends up exasperated (and probably being killed next) when everybody else finally decides that it is a good idea to leave and can't because the way out is blocked/the transportation method is disabled/the weather has gotten too bad.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-19 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
The one who gets infected trying to help someone who's injured, and turns into a monster in front of everyone so that the stakes become inarguable.

Hopefully my friends would have the presence of mind to shoot monster-me in the head so I didn't take them down with me.

Fat, useless and quietly panicking in a corner. And I do mean quietly, my form of panic is to shut down.
