Yeah, I don't have a Tumblr blog myself, but I've heard about all the things one can use to filter out content on there, so indeed, there's really no excuse. There's many places on the Internet in general where it's pretty easy to avoid things you don't like, and hang out with others who like the things you ARE into.

And besides that, these are fictional characters we're talking about here. I totally get being invested in the shows/books/movies one watches, and having opinions on this and that-I'm the same way. Everyone here can identify with being passionate about this or that piece of fiction to some degree :D.

But harassing people simply because they like two fictional characters together goes well beyond "invested" into, "You might want to step back and rearrange your priorities" territory.

I read a very fitting thing recently - "Fandom treats characters like real people and real people like characters" there's a lot of truth in that.

I mean, there are the occasional assholes who intentionally dump their hate into the tags but even those can be avoided if you blacklist their usernames as soon as they show up. There are plenty of options for filtering content.
