"My generation..."

The Nirvana secret reminded me that apparently unlike the rest of my generation, I don't like Nirvana and don't view Kurt Cobain's death as some sort of cultural touchstone.

What don't you match with your generation?

Pokemon. I watched the show but that was about it. I had cards but never battled. And I never played any of the games.

Same here.

Also for me, Nintendo games in general. I was a Playstation kid and I think a few years too old to really be interested in what I saw as 'kids games'.

Apparently the huge nostalgia for things like Ghostbusters, Mulan, The Incredibles, etc. I've never seen any of them.

Liking/wanting/owning/using smartphones. (Which is the biggest complaint people have about my generation haha XD)

The whole thing of growing up with console video games (especially Mario and Sonic). I had Commander Keen and Jazz Jackrabbit instead :P

Meme culture in general.

For the record, I'm a millenial/90s kid.

Gen Xer here, and I guess I'm different in that I wasn't a "latchkey kid." M parents weren't divorced, and they chose traditional roles - dad as breadwinner, mom staying home and taking care of me. Somehow I still ended up with that dogged Gen X independence, though.

My mom understands texting etiquette better than I do, and I deleted my Facebook account 3 years ago because it just made me insecure and miserable.
