Uh, my impression was that getting baptized on one's deathbed was an unusual situation, not a common one. Perhaps you mean something like receiving the last rites, but that's not the same thing as a baptism.

Nope, I meant what I said.

It wasn't normal to baptize infants until the early medieval period. The late Roman period, deathbed baptism was very common.
