I made a handbag for myself. I tried a few times but always got it wrong and stopped trying for a year. I used the ones I got wrong all that time and was always worried someone would point and laugh if they looked closely. Finally I got sick of feeling that way and started on a new one. I always keep notes so I knew what mistakes to watch out for and what alterations I wanted to make. I spent a month planning everything and three days to make my handbag. It's very simple but pretty, I didn't make a single mistake, and I've had loads of compliments on it. I love saying, "Thanks, I made it myself!"

Congratulations! I love being able to respond to compliments with "thanks, I made it" too. It's a great feeling.

Thank you! I've never received compliments on something made before and there really isn't any other feeling like it :)

Congrats!! Handbags are tricky. Always a fantastic feeling when you get a compliment on a handmade item.

Thank you! I never have before and now I'm addicted :) Not really but it really is a great feeling and I feel proud whenever I use it or even look at it. It wasn't skill but determination and I just can't get that from something store bought or even something that was easy to make.
