buck up, anon. maybe they won't be a couple from the beginning and there will be hot af slow build and UST for 3 seasons first.

one can dream?

Please make this

See, I'd love that if I knew for sure they were paid through 4 seasons. Otherwise I'm afraid I'd get two seasons of UST and then cancelled and 20 years of fans fighting over "But they were GOING to be a couple" and "Death of the author! They're just gals being pals in canon!"

I think you can have UST that is unresolved but still explicit and canonical about being sexual and tension-y, you know

(Anonymous) 2016-09-21 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
Like Hannibal?

(Anonymous) 2016-09-21 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly like Hannibal.:D

Yeah, but that tends to rely the trope that men are inherently sexual and gay men especially so. (And some evil-gay with Hannibal)

But look at how hard the debates are about Ghostbusters when they flat out said they were going for Holtzmann being gay as springtime and you still had lots of arguments that she was just a friendly tomboy? Or the "Harold, they're LESBIANS!" story where someone overheard someone having to explain that the reason these women kept kissing and dating was because they were, in fact, lesbians. Or the people still trying to deny Korra and Asami, and....

People don't want to see UST between two women as UST so they don't.
