He'"s a great character (but then I think they all are). But yeah, I have a strong love for teachers who care/go beyond the job description.

He really was great, and I'm glad that he wasn't offed at the end because I was kind of expecting that, what with being the helpful science nerd. But I guess since he wasn't in the thick of it he got to live.

But yeah teachers like him are amazing, I only had one like that at school(and she was a science teacher too) but she's the reason I didn't fail physics.

Oh, yes, this. I was biting my nails over him. I'll have to bite them again in Season Two!

I know most people in the fandom found Barb to be the break-out minor character of the show but, yeah, I was much more into Mr. Clarke. He's such a cool guy and I love shows with teachers who really care about their students and go the extra mile to help them. When the government villain lady went to talk to him, I was legit freaking out because I thought she was going to shoot him like she did to the nice diner dude, but I'm really glad that he's still around.

He's just such a genuinely nice dude and I hope we get to see more of him and his girlfriend (wife? idk) in the next season

I loved that he was with someone, TBH

I was thinking just a friend? Wasn't the woman with him Mike's mum? I thought Holly was there too???

I'm referring to the scene where he's watching a movie at his house alone with a woman and was interrupted by a phone call from Dustin, who wanted to know how to build an sensory deprivation tank. It seemed pretty heavily implied that it was a date/romantic situation. I'm not quite sure which part you're talking about

I loved that scene. He clearly wanted to get back to his date, but still took the time to answer Dustin's questions.

I'm not sure either! I am misremembering or smooshing scenes or just outright mixing up Clarke and Ted...

I aspire to be that epic a teacher.

I liked him a lot too.

He was great. It really makes a difference when you're stuck with a teacher who couldn't give less of a shit about actually teaching. I've had so many like that (either ones who've been around forever and should retire because they obviously have no passion for the job anymore or ones who expect you to just know what to do already). Makes me sad that I've never really had a teacher like him except for the young ones I met in summer school.

My favorite part was when the kids call him up late at night and he's clearly on a date or something, but still takes the time to answer all their questions. I was so glad he lived!

He is pretty good, anon. I had a math teacher like that and many of his words and sayings have stuck with me.

I wish you'd had a teacher like that too :( more teachers like that are needed.

Also, after watching the whole thing, I can see why many people loved Barb but she wasn't really standout to me? As minor characters go, we didn't get to know her like with Clarke or any of the others. She had a few scenes and that was it.

So reading things like Buzzfeed going "barb was an amazing character" leaves me ???? ???? ?? she didn't get a chance to be amazing?? she was generic filler character??? perhaps had potential, all the rest were pretty cool even douche guy but ????

Same. He was my favorite too.
