She was crazy, but I loved her big sister moments. I will forever be bitter that they let the MC fuck and breed their siblings (I don't care if it's blood related or not) and so I hated anything that remotely opened the possibility of sexual interest, but taking all that away, I loved her as crazy big sis. It's been awhile since I played, but it the Conquest side, I don't remember her lacking empathy? She seemed to have people she genuinely cared about, like her entourage and siblings.

The way I've always seen it, Jareth is not exactly...in touch with humanity. I'd agree it's more fascination than love, though I do think he genuinely wants her to stay at the end. I think he's just sort of bored and lonely. I feel he's more looking for a "companion" in the broad sense of the word.

Yeah, he had a really good balance personality-wise. He earned the respect of his team precisely BECAUSE he made it clear he cared about them both professionally and personally, and he was always supportive and willing to help them through whatever they struggled with. He treated them like individual human beings instead of just some faceless team (which is especially impressive given how many people have come and gone on the team over the years!). It's that quality that I'll definitely miss most about him, for sure, and I second your wish to see more men like this on TV.

True. And in Next Gen and a bit in DS9 it was admirals and other high ranking Starfleet officials who were always evil or wrong or misguided. But then again, this is a trend in most shows. Everyone that isn't the heroes is portrayed that way to make the heroes look better.
