Yes to all of this. I remember the moment I really fell for the character. It was the scene where he goes to Elle's house and starts washing her blood off the walls while she's in the hospital. It just wasn't something I expected him to do and it was so awesome. I understand why he has to go, but I'm going to really miss him.

I LOVE that scene with him cleaning the walls. It's such a subtle, seemingly simple thing to do, and yet it speaks volumes to how truly compassionate and thoughtful he is.

I got into this show late in its run, so my experience seeing the early seasons was in DVD form, when I'd hang out with a friend who was a big fan of the show. But I clearly remember watching this episode on DVD, and Hotch cleaning the walls was definitely my, "Okay, I'm officially sold on this show and these characters and must watch more" moment :). The entirety of the "Sex, Birth Death" episode further fueled that feeling (I just basically really love season 2 in general :D).
