I always get weirded out by the people who think Sarah's dad and stepmom were terrible for using her as a free babysitter. Didn't anyone else babysit their younger siblings? I thought it was great because I got to be in charge!

As I said in another comment: I think context matters.

I think that being stuck with a baby so your dad and his new wife can go on date night is quite different than babysitting an older, well-liked (full) sibling.

I'd be resentful, in any case (but bear in mind for me babysitting is something I won't even do for money).

My view might also be skewed because my boyfriend's sister was pretty much almost in he exact situation (my bf's dad had two young children with another woman) and she totally hates babies and was very resentful if asked to mind them, especially as she does not really like the girlfriend. It's one of the reasons she now lives with her mom permanently.

Personally, I'm fortunate as I have no younger siblings.
