TBH it's better not to bring anyone to social settings where they'll be miserable.

I'm about as introverted as they come and even I know that you occasionally have to suck it up and fulfill a social obligation. Whining about how boring Grandma's 98th birthday party is or repeatedly asking if it's time to go home yet at your sister's rehearsal dinner is childish and rude.

If you were arm-twisted into going after repeatedly voicing that you didn't want to go in the first place, I'd say it's payback.

Well, yes. Tantrums and sulking will totally show your friends and family that they were wrong to include you. With any luck, your friends can then decide to find grown ups to be friends with instead of you. Your family is probably stuck with you, but they're probably used to how terrible you are by now and can hopefully get some enjoyment out of making fun of you when you're not around. Which of your cousins do you think does the best you impression?

Good. Friends who pester and arm-twist and guilt-trip and whine at me that I have to after I've already told them "no" are shitty friends to start with.

No, they're not. They could just not fucking talk to me anymore, which would be best for both of us.

Oh for fuck's sake, grow up and attend your grandma's birthday, and don't be a cunt about it.

No. She's a vile cunt of a woman, and I refuse to be in the same room with her. Not even at her funeral.

I say again: grow up.

Re: Social pet peeves

(Anonymous) 2016-09-22 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. If "growing up" means rewarding a cruel, narcissistic woman who has made ALL of her children's lives hell (including financially ruining one of them because she didn't approve of who he married) and expects to be catered to just because she's old? Fuck that, I'll be a kid forever.

You're not a kid. Kids are cute and have the potential for personal growth. You're just a spoiled brat who thinks you're edgy.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-22 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. I'm someone who refuses to let people treat her like shit anymore just because we share a few chromosomes. If that's a "spoiled brat" to you, fine.

If that's how you choose to see yourself, then good for you, I guess. Hopefully all the people in your life will show you the exact amount of courtesy and basic human decency that you show them.

I hope so, too. The sooner they take the hint and leave me the fuck alone, the better.

Always leave your windows open just a little. That way when you die, the wild animals can get in to eat your corpse and save everyone the expense and inconvenience of a funeral.

Oh hell no. Having a massively inconvenient death would be the ultimate payback.
