Who is the most famous person you have met outside of like meetups at cons.

Shaquille O'Neal was a regular in the one store I used to work at.

I saw Justin Bieber (or some guy who looked like him) at the American Girl Place. I'm not a fan of him, so I just bought a present for my godchild and left.

Probably Alan Tudyk at a movie premiere. It was a super small movie (Premature) and the only people really in the theater were people related to the movie and then we got to go to the party. He was so excited when he found out we only came because he tweeted about it.

I shook Rudy Giuliani's hand while he was still mayor of NYC. It was at a breakfast event my mom's union was holding.

...I guess that's kind of like the politics version of a con meetup, though.

My Mom met Bo Jackson in a grocery store she worked at and the Bassist from the band Winger in a TCBY.

I could've sworn I ran into the singer from Disturbed, literally. We bumped into each other while I was in Downtown Chicago one day. I just kind of did a double take and basically went "Wait a second..." He just grinned in a "I know what you're thinking and I'm not saying anything" kind of way.

I met Norman Borlaug, Dan Shechtman and Simon Estes at my school.

Also, I knew Valerie Plame from my old neighborhood.

Ethan Hawke or John de Lancie. I'm not certain which one is more famous.

And one (very) weird encounter with Josh Hamilton but I don't think he counts.

I'm a background extra, so I spend time in the close vicinity of moderately well known actors all the time. But I rarely actually meet them or speak to them in any capacity.

The most famous people I've been in the near vicinity of (as in, they were a couple of steps away): Jamie Dornan and Chloe Grace Moretz.

The most famous person I've actually exchanged words with: Jennifer Beals.

I have a close relative who's a successful musician. It only really counts with his fans, but I come across them pretty regularly.

I don't know if it counts as meetup at a con but I briefly dated a VA for one of the Anime dub groups, so I'd get invited to the aftercon parties with everyone.

There was a time I was about seven or eight and my family was in GA and we ran into a famous jazz musician at a restaurant but I'm blanking on the name.

Garrison Keillor once came through my checkout line at a place I used to work years ago.
