If you're talking about race, then, a person would still be the same race in an alternate universe, though?

OP

The author tries to "hide" the Eugenics Wars within our timeline of the 1990s rather than just full-on write what it was implied to be by TOS canon - a destructive war wrought across Europe, Asia and Africa by competing would-be genetic overlords.

OP again

So I have no idea why you're on about race????

I think they were talking about the Khan in the AU movies.

OP

Oh yeah, there is just no excuse for casting Benedict Fuckface as Khan. (>_<)

I wish they'd stuck with their original plan to make him Gary Mitchell but apparently JJ Abrahms was concerned no one would have a clue who he was...which is stupid.

He also made a decision to have Uhura kiss Spock in the turbolift instead of doing the finger touching thing Vulcan's do...all because he didn't want to confuse people new to Star Trek :(

I think OP was talking about the Eugenics Wars (which in TOS were supposed to have happened in the 1990s, but obviously didn't IRL and therefore would have to be either an alternate timeline or pushed to a later date), not the TOS vs. new movies timelines.
