(Anonymous) 2016-09-26 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)(Also, while this obviously shouldn't impact your opinion of the work since there's no way to know this from reading them, he's actually said before that he didn't do it because he thought he _had_ to, but rather because he _wanted_ to. He wanted to see if he could both fit it into modern history _and_ reference basically every single 20th century Trek thing all in one duology. It was for the sake of fun was all. :P)
