If people keep pointing at it maybe mainstream media will change. So yeah.

The problem is not really shippers (some are astoundingly daft, so okay, in some cases - yes) as most pair characters up based on chemistry or supposed chemistry they see in their head. Majority of ships I ship are also white and can't name anyone else at top of my head but Scott and Allison from Teen Wolf and I didn't like that series, buggered off when she died as it got boring to me (not because of character dying just scripting, the written off Boyd and Erica as well, Erica was my overall fav character).

Essentially people do not really search or look for other media than what is main stream and producers can just do whatever unless they actually will get proper scorn for shitty stuff (or writers or whole teams). Then we have people influenced by what they see and it is a chain that is not broken. I never watched Criminal Minds but when it was popular, the main ship was a mixed couple. Sleepy Hollow got a lot but I abandoned it because not my liking :P . Skins in third season as well.

Just jumping in to say Scott from TW isn't white. Tyler Posey is latino.

Yep, meant him and Allison as a mixed couple I could name as one I shipped.
