He eats his own poop.

Try feeding him a couple of spoonfuls of pineapple (I use canned crushed pineapple) every day. My dog ate her poop but this has stopped her completely, there's something in the pineapple that makes their poop taste bad to them. The pineapple trick works for me better (and cheaper) than products specifically meant for that purpose.

This is great advice. However, keep in mind, it doesn't always work. We gave my dog pineapples, products meant to make the poop unsavory, old home remedies, etc; she still ate her poop for eight whole years despite us constantly keeping up with the deterrents. Only reason she eventually stopped was because she developed stomach problems as she got older and can now only eat specialty food.

It should work for the average dog, but if you have a problem dog like mine, it may not work.

Man, that's some determination right there...

Only real solution is to just pick it up all the time, which gets really annoying and isn't always possible.

It's my mom's dog technically and I don't know if he's done this recently, but I will ask her and mention this trick to her as something to try!
