MCU

(Anonymous) 2016-09-28 12:24 am (UTC)(link)GotG 2, Spiderman Homecoming & Thor Ragnarok are/were all filming about the same time so the scripts and his roles would have been pretty final. The only question is about the 4th role and was it a late filming for Doctor Strange, or an early filming for Black Panther.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-28 04:46 am (UTC)(link)...are there any people in the fandom who like the other MCU movies besides TWS and the Netflix shows? Like, TWS is amazing, no lie, but I really enjoy a lot of the other MCU movies - CA:TFA, Thor, GotG, First Avengers movie. But it seems like all anyone wants to talk about is WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WITH BUCKY AND CAP where I'm excited to see what happens in Thor: Ragnarok and Spiderman: Homecoming and Infinity War and all that jazz.
Am I weird for being interested in how the larger narrative of the MCU (EG what's going to happen with Thanos and the Infinity Stones) pans out?
Re: MCU
(Anonymous) 2016-09-28 04:55 am (UTC)(link)I enjoy all the Cap movies but TWS is the only one that I really LOVE. I also care about comics!Bucky significantly more than MCU!Bucky so the way the fandom revolves around all things Stucky is a bit boring, imo.
Re: MCU
(Anonymous) 2016-09-28 05:06 am (UTC)(link)TBH the biggest reason I'm excited for Ragnarok is because I love Waititi - What We Do In The Shadows is my go-to movie whenever I need a pick-me-uo. And I am SO PUMPED TOO for Luke Cage and Spiderman! All the trailers for LC look AMAZING and I'm really hoping we get a trailer for SM:H soon.
I'm in the same boat as you with the Cap movies - they're my favorite out of the MCU series, and TWS was definitely the best. At this point the MCU fandom really feels like the Stucky fandom tbh, and that's what frustrates me the most.
And HELL YEAH FELLOW COMICS!BUCKY FAN! I love MCU!Bucky too but I really think they've done a poor job of developing him outside of his relationship with Steve. It's why I'm so torn on rumors that he may be in Black Panther. On one hand it's like YEAH MY TWO FAVORITE COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS TEAMING UP TO TRAVEL THE GLOBE AND KICK ASS but on the other hand I feel like having Bucky in the movie would result in Black Panther getting upstaged in what's supposed to be his big movie (which I think happened to a certain degree in CW with Tony upstaging Cap)
LOL this went on longer than I thought. I apparently have more feelings about this than I expected.
Re: MCU
I'm sort of less interested in Ragnarok (but I'll go see it) and Spiderman (same). With Spiderman it's more like - I LOVE the kid they cast and it's great, but, since he's so young - I'm not sure how they can avoid some orgin elements AGAIN. I'm just going to wait to see it with an open mind, but don't really speculate about it.
I AM curious about Strange though, and how mystical elements might fit into the grander scheme.
Re: MCU
Lord knows how the Thanos stuff is going to pan out atm though since Infinity Wars part 1 and 2 have been scrapped, or changed. So I'll wait to hear some more news on that before I start ruminating on it.
