lol, I was about to mention the Sherlock fandom. A few years ago, I finally left after some assholes started passing around a list of people who wrote/enjoyed rape fantasies in fanfic (I think it was also connected to some reapersun wank from a long time ago when people accused the artist of being pro-rape based on one of her comics? something like that) and accused those people of supporting real life rape because of the fic they read or wrote. In a couple of cases, people were accused of actually being rapists despite the fact that there was literally no evidence provided for this claim other than the fact that they weren't against non-con in fic. Several of the people on the list had also spoken openly in the past about being rape survivors themselves which just made the whole thing even more of a clusterfuck.

So...yeah, that pretty much marked the end of my time in the Sherlock fandom. I just couldn't handle it. And I say that as someone who's been in the Supernatural fandom since the show's been airing, so I can put up with a lot.

What's Shiro/Paladin and why is it bad? Because that's what seems to make up like 95% of this list.

Also I love the third one down, they're potentially 'triggering' because they're okay with a ship but haven't posted any stuff to do with said ship? What kind of space logic is this??

I think it means Shiro/Any of the other Paladin characters. Because Shiro is like an adult by two years so he is a pedophile or some shit.

None of the characters are actual children though right? They certainly look like teenagers at any rate so that'd just make Shiro/Paladin shipping your standard age-gap ship.

Also Shiro is really hot. My god.

Like Pidge might be like...15? 16? But they look like adults and are being trained as soldiers so I'd assume they are at least 16.

They definitely all look at least 16, I'd say that some of them look older with maybe the brown haired girl(Pidge?) being the youngest.

So yeah, it's just standard age-gap ships that might not even be that far apart in age.

(Oh internet, how would you handle some of my older much more skeevy age-gap ships?)

Oh man. I was signing up for a fic exchange and trying to figure out how to best phrase "I grew up shipping Gundam Wing and Sailor Moon and other anime where everyone's 14. As long as the character's old enough to pilot giant robots and fight in a war I really dgaf." (The giant robot thing referring to GW, not the current fandom. )

That list looks a bit biased. Most of it is all one pairing, or at least claims those blogs are about that pairing.

And that's assuming some of the others aren't. Like, I don't watch this show, but the bigger guy (kind of fat?), he strikes me as in his very very late teens if not at least 20 years old. The youngest one has to be the girl at the LEAST at 16. I dunno, obviously, but just from looks alone, those are some of my guesstimates.

REEEEAAAAALLLY not that bad as far age gaps go, but Tumblr don't give a shit. Cause in their minds, 0-17 is a CHILD. Just straight up, CHILD.

HAH, do you know how pissed off I was when I was treated like a child at 15 or 16? I mean, I wasn't super mature by any means, but I wasn't a CHILD. I knew right from wrong, I knew how to make some fairly informed decisions, etc. A teenager is not a child, ffs Tumblr.

I wasn't assuming anything, just correcting my previous presumption that "Paladin" meant a single character. I really don't know this new series (I did watch the one from back in the 80s), so I don't know the character ages. I did presume they were all teens at least.

Which is weird when you think about how many people on Tumblr are teens to early twenties lusting after actors twice their age.

Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon (most of them were 14 and the now forgotten college student Mamoru), freakin' Digimon (the amount of porn i read between Matt and Ty...), even Pokemon with Ash/Misty and/or Ash/Gary...

Man, to me the most head-desking part is the ones where the explanation is just "They posted ABUSIVE non-Voltron ships on OTHER WEBSITES in the past!"

Guys, this is why the SU fandom got blamed for the whole suicide-attempt thing. Because you couldn't shut up about her drawing 'abusive' Homestuck ships three years ago. LET IT GO! Stop stroking that hate-boner, you've gone long past chafing at this point.
