This. Lamenting that you'll never reach perfection so never starting is a fool's errand. I can guarantee that Peter Jackson's starting aim wasn't to reach the success he eventually did. He just wanted to make weird shit. He probably would have continued to make weird shit even if no one else ever saw it. Hell, I bet Tolkien would have kept making up his strange personal mythology even if The Hobbit had been a failure. Do you have an idea you want to share? Do it, even if it's made out of lego and filmed on a phone. You might not reach the heights whatever happens, but you certainly won't if you do nothing. And maybe there'll be some people out there who dig what you do.
