Creepy corpse eating cult in Skyrim. I never shopped at that place again in any of my subsequent builds and only went in there if I had to for a quest OTHER than that one daedric quest.

You actually can kill them all. I don't know if they're Essential before the quest, but you can kill them, instead of the priest during the quest...don't get the Ring of Namira, of course, but you can clear out Markarth's cannibal population.

LOL, that whole thing is so weird, even for creepy daedric cult stuff. Uh, thanks for randomly accusing me of salivating over corpses and having snacked on a dead sibling as a kid, but I don't particularly want to hang out in a crappy cave with you guys and get a ring that causes people to remark on my bad breath. If you're gonna start a cult, try to aim a little higher. Wiping them out and letting the priest go is very satisfying.
