I thought there was a twitter post confirming he'll get a cameo, but I can't find it, so maybe it was fake.

He is, at the least, alive. Dishonored 2 chose low chaos as the canon ending >_>

I mean, hypothetically you could do low chaos everywhere else but kill Daud and still get the low chaos ending (that probably isn't canon admittedly, but if they don't confirm or deny it I feel like you can believe whatever!)
