Yeah, sorry, I have to agree with the first replier. As an outsider (watched the show, no contact with fandom), all the Klance fan behavior you mentioned sounds awful, but I think you also need to take a step back and breathe.

No one owes a show their adoring support regardless of the storylines the makers come up with in the future. No one needs to praise the art to prove to other fans how much of a true fan they are. Just like the makers or VAs don't owe any of the fans fan service and indulging the fan favorite pairing. Trying to get a point in over the other side by accusing them of being bad fans just doesn't work -- not everyone has to have the same relationship to the show. If they want to be shallow and only be in it for one pairing, why the heck are you trying to shame them for doing that? By all means, call out the entitled behavior like the bullying of cast members and fans or their threats to rampage if they don't get their way, but don't try to police how people feel about the show or shame them for the reasons why they're watching it.

Also, calling people fatphobic for not shipping Hunk/Lance? Like, I understand it can be extremely annoying when people use SJ reasoning to support their ship/tear down other ships, and it can be extremely tempting to say, "Well, by your own reasoning, everyone should be shipping [a pairing other than the one they're pushing]!" I get that. But you're just endorsing the rules by continuing to play the game, especially if the ship you insert is your personal OTP. Instead, step back a bit and repeat the mantra: "People expressing ship preferences is not social justice activism." Otherwise, you're doing exactly the same thing they're doing, including get a little power kick over shaming people's shipping preferences. Yes, giving people a taste of their own medicine is the whole point of this exercise, but are you making your fandom a better, healthier place by endorsing these tactics and using them for your own gain?

Note: I think it's okay to say "By your own reasoning, this would lead to conclusion X." However, anytime you temporarily endorse reasoning by doing that thought exercise, you should also have a disclaimer where you disavow the reasoning, unless you actually do endorse it.

I realize this is an outsider's perspective where I'm sheltered from reprisals from angry Klance fans, but you sound like you've been in the trenches too long. From an outsider's perspective, your actions and attitudes don't come off as blameless or productive, either.

Also, I should add that I have been where you are. I once ran a fan forum where I added to the drama by getting into ship wars and trying to one-up people with the type of arguments you're using. It was really bad of me (way more so because I was an admin!) but I understand how, when people are making arguments and shaming people, the most natural reaction is to do the same thing back rather than be the bigger person. So I think where you are is 100% understandable, but it's not a pretty place to be.
