Is this the Miss Peregrine movie? I hadn't planned on seeing it, anyway. The book was kind of boring, to be honest. The choice of Tim Burton as director is a little too on the nose for me, since I feel like his recent films are along similar lines: lots of emphasis on nifty visuals, and not much of a story.

It feels like the book and the director are going to magnify each others' faults, you know?

The book always looked boring to me and I doubt the film will improve it.

That sort of describes the film, tbh: very pretty but no surprises story-wise.

I pretty much only bought the book to look at the pictures

I read the first ten chapters or so but got bored

Really neat pictures, though
