(Anonymous) 2016-10-06 02:38 am (UTC)(link)Although honestly, I don't tag for it partially of out of spite (though it's mostly because I really don't think to tag for it - it's not something that I consider important to the story). I've gotten some really shitty comments from entitled readers who think they're owed the tags. Not even something like 'hey, could you tag for this?', but assholishness like 'why the fuck did I waste my time reading this shit? you made so-and-so bottom which is wrong and it's not what i wanted to read' (paraphrased, but damn close to one actual comment).
I mean, c'mon, if it's such a HUGE hang-up for you, and it's not tagged, either don't read, or just ask! I responds to all comments and have my email available. Leaving rude, inflammatory comments really doesn't make me want to help you out... And I'm not going to be disappointed if I lose you as a reader if it's not tagged.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-06 03:46 am (UTC)(link)Also, most m/m pairings I write, I write as switches because that's what turns me on the most. I like sexually adventurous characters who want to do it all the ways. So if it's a long story or a long series with more than one anal scene in it, almost certainly there's going to be both Top!A and Bottom!A (not to mention lots of acts that don't have a clearly defined penetrator/penetratee).
I really really do not care who tops or who bottoms in most of the fic I read, and I also really really do not like the tendency to write the bottom as inherently more emotionally vulnerable or the top as more stoic and leader-ish. I know it's a popular trope for a reason, but it's just not sexy to me, especially when characterization gets REALLY warped. It's OK in original fic, but if it's characters I already know are not like that, I just get a definite mood-killing embarassment squick.
