Oh man, this reminds me of years ago there was this really popular fic. This was back when fanfiction.net was the big thing.

Apparently their rules were super strict so this extremely popular fic got deleted because they used a few lines from song lyrics at the beginning of each chapter to set the scene. Lots of people were outraged that the author wasn't even given a warning so they could at least edit it, and even though the author said they'd upload it somewhere else they never did. They kinda faded away and never wrote anything after that... at least not under that username.

There were like 15 or so chapters and I had saved the first 7 on a whim and made the mistake of telling people on a forum to PM me if they wanted what I had saved. Years later people are still tracing my contact info to outside the forum asking me for it even though I've long since deleted it...
