Never heard of one single good, healthy "kin" story. From Victoria Bitters saga, to that Final Fantasy House, just nope.

Back away, Anon. Back away.

I don't have a horse in this race, but I just want to point out that if there are some otherkin who keep to themselves and don't bother people, it's unlikely they'd make much news. :P

Hence why they're never heard of.

Exactly. As with any group, you only hear about the bad ones because those are the ones people have stories about.

Agreed. I'm otherkin and have been in the internet community for them for like 17 years now (off and on). There's lots of people who are just content to be themselves and aren't crazy or violent about it. I think it's more of a recent thing that people get really vitriolic about identity politics. You would be surprised by who is otherkin and you'll just never know because they don't shout it to the rooftops or tell people who might make fun.

Yeah, there are certain internet subcultures that are packed to the gills with extremely dangerous and destructive people. Soulbonders and -kintypes, the multiple community, hardcore fringe trans activists, gamergaters, etc...

There's some types of crazy you're better off staying far, far away from. I think the "kin" community especially so because it's astonishingly cult-like. idr if I've ever talked about my own experiences here on F!S non-anon, but it's a very bad crowd to get involved with.
