"Only good thing"? Seriously? Joker's backstory and the defining of his relationship with Batman is... what?

One possible backstory, and anyway Zero Year redid it and it was better.

Plus Batman and Joker's relationship has been defined and redefined several times over the years, so I question why you hold so tightly onto TKJ. It's not even Alan Moore's best work (that's Watchmen IMO, with his Swamp Thing run a close second.)

One possible backstory but the one that will stand the test of time for the character. I don't even know what Zero Year's origin is.

Plus Batman and Joker's relationship has been defined and redefined several times over the years, so I question why you hold so tightly onto TKJ.

Because it's a great comic and I'm not so triggered by what happened to Barbara that I'm unable to overlook the rest of the story's artistic merit.

Your repeated use of "triggered" tells me everything I need to know, to be honest.

If the shoe fits...

I mean...they are using the language that the whole conversation is about.

I don't know about stood the test of time. Its one that has never gone away, true, but adaptations have not done it and many Batcomics have not referenced it. It also seems like a lot of people are now pretty sick of it and want another viewpoint on the characters. It has been in fashion for a while, but is now going out of fashion.

It's stood the test of the time. It's still viewed as one of the definitive Batman comics and will continue to do so. Yes the movie version was lukewarm but so was the Watchmen movie.

And IDK about adaptations "not" doing it but given that both Heath Ledger and Jared Leto looked at it for reference (IDK about Nicholson but Tim Burton also cited it as an influence on his films) that says a lot on how important it is.
