:(

If it's any consolation, they're just not as comfy. :P

I think it depends on the style and quality. I have a pair of fleece lined heeled booties and they're hella comfortable, while on the other hand, I've had flat shoes that had my feet aching by the end of the work day.

Personally I'm more jealous of female characters who wear attack spells.

But this is just me speaking as a kiting damage carry. If you're a support, heals will naturally be more important.

LMAO +1

No, anon, heels are bad for your health.

But they're pretty and can be comfy. I refuse to give them up.

nayrt, but enjoy them while you can! And hope that you haven't done too much damage by the time you stop. Foot pain can cause a whackload of issues.

I used to wear the high heels, and I still like the look of them and try them on, but once I left my 20s, I started migrating to sensible, good quality shoes. My mom has bad feet, and that's not happening to me.

I've been walking on my toes since I learned to walk, fucked up my knees and my joints. Honestly not sure heels are going to do any more damage than 32 years of toe walking already has. XD

they're really not that comfortable. characters portray them for attractiveness, badassery, and design, not practicality.

don't get me wrong - they often look cool. but most people don't go around wearing them all the time IRL unless they want to develop some serious foot problems

I have the same problem; I had lumbar surgery last year. :(

I can wear a slight heel/wedge if it's got spring to it, like a rubberized heel.

It does blow not being able to wear them with certain outfits. It fucked up one of my cosplays.

I feel you. I have weird toenails that point up instead of laying flat and heels mess up and bruise my toes something awful when my foot slides forward. I've put up with the pain for special occasions, but it's so sad there's so many cute shoes out there I can't even consider wearing because of the pain.

On my end, all I can see is the vast possibility for broken/sprained ankles. *L*

I have really started to hate heels since I *had* the wear them at one job.

The only thing I ever really liked about them anyway is being really tall, but, they're not that "fun" to wear, I think.

I mean, I totally get it sucks wanting to wear and not being able to - but, objectively, they're not that great.

There are cute boots without heels. Or little ones.

I can definitely see how it would suck to not be able to wear heels at all. But they're honestly pretty uncomfortable. I mean, a two inch heel can be only slightly less comfortable than no heel, but with three inches there's a definite decrease in comfort and by four inches it's like, lol, you'd better hope you don't need to walk far or stand in place for very long.

I do wear heels sometimes, but I often end up regretting it part way through the day. I should really just learn my lesson and switch entirely to flats. :(

My advice would be just to figure out what kind of no-heel footwear you like the look of best. For example, a pointy toe on a ballet flat (as opposed to a round toe) can give it a fiercer, dressier look. Ditto on boots. And when it comes to boots, embellishments like gold-tone hardware can really add some punch. Tall boots also tend to make more of an impression than short boots, especially when we're talking flats.
