Re: How to deal with a hypochondriac friend (when you're sort of mentally ill)?
(Anonymous) 2016-10-14 12:10 am (UTC)(link)Is this a good enough friend that you can say "Look, I've checked out my issues with my doctor--who I trust because she's taken good care of me in the past. And I get medical advice from her because she's qualified to dispense medical advice--being, you know, a doctor. And if I'm concerned that I need a second opinion, I'll see another doctor. YOU ARE NOT A DOCTOR. I know you mean well, but right now, all the advice you're giving (that I haven't asked for) and the nagging you are doing about my health is doing nothing but upsetting me. Please don't do this anymore."
Re: How to deal with a hypochondriac friend (when you're sort of mentally ill)?
The problem is that before I knew she had this tendency, i did mention my health, gave her info, and it sort of escalated from there.
