Bodyswap

Stuff starring women would be ideal, but I'm down for anything if it's not completely unreadable/unwatchable.

Have you seen Kimi no Na wa/Your Name? I just watched it yesterday and it was fantastic (and I say that as someone who normally isn't into Makoto Shinkai's stuff).

Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches is pretty funny.

Slashy movies

(Anonymous) 2016-10-15 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Movies that you rewatch specifically because they're pretty damn slashy, whether they are good or not. Bonus points for lesser-known ones.

I watched the A-Team movie again recently and I ended up seeing shipping potential between everyone in every combination you can think of

Re: Slashy movies

(Anonymous) 2016-10-15 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Top Gun.

I don't only watch it for the slashiness, but The Eagle is pretty darn slashy

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original one)

There is some subtext, at least on Rasputin's part in "Corto Maltese in Sibiria" ( orig.title Corto Maltese: La cour secrète des Arcanes)

I think Corto might bat for both teams, really, even though there's a long string of women passing through his life.

Re: Slashy movies

Hot Fuzz, The Eagle, The Road To El Dorado.

Re: Slashy movies

The Man from UNCLE, Point Break, Starsky and Hutch

Re: Rec thread

(Anonymous) 2016-10-15 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll take recs for any traditional high fantasy books or fics with wood elves doing folksy wood elf stuff and no deconstructions, subversions, playing against types, or darker and edgier, type stuff, please?

It's been a long time since I've read it, but maybe Katharine Kerr's Deverry series? Starts with Daggerspell:

I would love recs/links to some non explicit xxxholic doujinshi. Implied sex or non explicit sex is cool but I'm not in the mood for actual prons ATM. All pairings are fine by me except watanuki/yuuko or anything involving kohane.

Short stories with twists/reveals at the end

[personal profile] vethica 2016-10-15 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Preemptive spoiler warning, obviously.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar by Roald Dahl is a great for twist endings:

Paul Jennings also wrote some funny, twisty stories that I loved as a kid, which then got turned into an iconic kid's show:

Isaac Asimov had a few. I'd start with "Flies" or "Hostess."

Stories about starting over (e.g. moving to a new city, recovering from a bad break up, changing your worldview, or whatever)

Brian Lee O'Malley's "Lost at Sea" kind of has that vibe.

Fluffy or comfort porn

[personal profile] philstar22 2016-10-15 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, I'm just in the mood for porny fics with a lot of comfort and praise and voice kink sorts of things. Just one character taking care of the other and making it really good for them.

Femslashy movies

(Anonymous) 2016-10-15 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
like above but for femslashy movies, instead of slashy movies

Comics

(Anonymous) 2016-10-15 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't read a comic since I was a kid, but recently I've picked up Star Wars comics and also found Saga in the local bookstore, which I've enjoyed a lot.
And now I want to find more to read. Not picky about genre or rating.
Note that I'm not interested in Marvel/DC juggernauts - I don't have that much time on my hands and I'm perfectly happy with MCU and Arrowverse.
