Ouch. I think they're creepy, but I love The Empty child.

That sucks, but I didn't realize anyone found that episode scary.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-17 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's REALLY scary!!!!!! I'm not even gas mask anon and holy shit. Tbh I didn't realize anyone *didn't* find it at least kind of scary.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-17 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. I'm actually trying to think of a DW ep I find scary now. XD

I don't think I've ever found a Doctor Who episode scary, honestly. Actually, there are very few fictional things of any type I've ever found scary.
lentils: I wouldn't be worth much if I couldn't feel (Default)

I don't have a gas mask phobia, but I certainly find it eerie to listen to the child in the moment calling "mummyyyyyyy..."

Not related to the secret, but Eva Green is such a beautiful actress and I love her look on that poster (I haven't seen the film yet). I just felt like saying that.

Don't worry OP; that was pretty much the high point of the movie. The rest was terrible and you didn't miss anything.

That really sucks, anon. The Empty Child is one of my favorite episodes and I've never found it scary, but I can understand how others might.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-18 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Does it help at all to remind yourself that gas masks were made to save lives?

(Anonymous) 2016-10-18 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
No, no and NO, because the person who forced me to watch that fucking episode MOCKED my phobia by using that very argument, and if I CHOSE to become phobiac in the first place. So fuck them and fuck you too for being so patronizing.

aren't you a perfect little asshole

(Anonymous) 2016-10-18 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they mocked you because you're ridiculous, regardless of your "phobia."

(Anonymous) 2016-10-18 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
How on any planet was that comment patronizing? Some phobias become easier to deal with (and note I don't say cured, because a majority of people phobias do not become cured, they learn to deal/proactively avoid) if it's framed in a way that makes that particular phobia easier to focus on/around.

Stop being a twat. Having a phobia doesn't give you an asshole pass.
