The anime coming out are never the type of goofy, character based, contemporary comedy that I like. Even when they are, they usually go for a terrible stylized type of art that emphasizes the goofiness rather than the characterization. I wish they'd go back to art styles which had people who looked like people again. I'm probably just old though, fashion is for ever more cartoony characters. Heck, even if they did the type of contemporary issues that I like are now period issues because contemporary social issues have moved on, even in Japan.

Oh god, no. Not ever. Not even once. That animation style looks horrendous too. Far too obviously computer assisted. Not as bad as the piss poor computer assisted drawings in the latest DC movies which are beyond sucking, but still pretty poor for Japanese standards.
