Fuck yes, third movie best.

I read in an interview a director/producer or something said they just churned out Pokémon movies to fund their other projects. It's sad.

On another note, Crows_Talon on Archive of Our Own started re-writing a few of the movies. Haven't read them myself, though.

You like what you like. No one is morally obligated to prefer a show they aren't that into over a show they are, just because one has more diversity. Your fandom friends aren't the oligarchy of what shows you are allowed to like best.

I've not seen any hate between the two (and I am in both fandoms pretty heavily). And of course there would be parallels drawn between the two (hell, both had their 'brothers' fall from their grasp to their 'death' only to come back as a more evil version). As for me, I will take ALL the woobies. Give them to me.

The anime coming out are never the type of goofy, character based, contemporary comedy that I like. Even when they are, they usually go for a terrible stylized type of art that emphasizes the goofiness rather than the characterization. I wish they'd go back to art styles which had people who looked like people again. I'm probably just old though, fashion is for ever more cartoony characters. Heck, even if they did the type of contemporary issues that I like are now period issues because contemporary social issues have moved on, even in Japan.
